Nura was a Program Coordinator at Alliance Abroad Group from 2010-2011 facilitating cultural exchange programs. While managing the J-1 Visa process, she learned how to automate tasks and track large amounts of participant data with Excel and Access. After being asked to make her macros more accessible to the team, she was paired with a programmer. That’s when she learned that we can build anything we imagine in the virtual world (given time & budget, of course). This participant tracking system project turned into a portal that Alliance Abroad Group still uses today, and inspired Nura to learn more about automation and building systems that leverage emerging technology.
